Travels to Italy and France

After a wonderful trip to Provence to see the gorgeous lavender fields, my husband and I heard the poppies were in bloom in Tuscany, so we spontaneously decided a trip to Italy was a must! Leaving the children behind with Grandma, we left to gallivant through the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. We stayed at a quaint, rustic Inn that was chalk full of old world charm from the wood beamed ceilings, to the black wrought-iron bed. The view from the shuttered window was one of beautiful vineyards in rows as far as you could see. Our days were spent driving through old country towns and exploring the surrounding countryside. To see the fields of red poppies was truly an artist's delight! The rolling hills and ancient stone villas were also in rich supply, and it seemed everywhere I looked I found inspiration for future paintings.
